The Heist

Macklemore and Ryan Lewis have created one of the best albums of the year with The Heist.  It is rare to find an album that I can listen to every song and not be dissapointed.  Macklemore raps about real issues and things that are going on in today's society.  He also throws in the fun songs like "Thrift Shop" and "White Walls".  I mean who makes a song about thrift shopping?  He touches on topics that are not touched on by other rappers such as equal rights, same sex marriage, and sobriety.  This album is a great mix of funky, fun beats, as well as lyrics that have great depth and emotion.  It is one of the reasons that Rap music is back and 2012 has been a great year for the genre.  My favorite tracks would be "Gold", "Thrift Shop", "Same Love", "White Walls", and "Can't Hold Us".

The Pack is Back on Track

Well I have not posted in awhile, but there is not a better time to be back than right now after the big win last night.  The Packers continued their dominance over the NFC North beating the Lions 27-20.  The defense started out sluggish and lazy, so did the offense.  Then Stafford fumbled, allowing Mike "Jack" Daniels to scoop and score.  There is nothing better than a fat man chugging down the field for the score.  He even had a solid Lambeau Leap (even better than Rodgers).

Another thing that stuck out in the game was the running game.  Charles' brother Donald Barclay, not really his brother, opened up huge holes for Alex Green and DuJuan Harris all night.  Even Ryan Grant pulled off a nice run in his first game back.  DuJuan Harris impressed me with his hard running style.  This was evident on the first carry of the game when he ran over a Lions defender.

The young defensive backs also played well.  It is good to have Shields back and will be even better when Chuck returns.  They gave up yards to Megatron, but everyone does, that guy is a beast.  The young guys are gaining experience and adding Clay and Chuck back into the mix is just gonna make the defense better.

The Bears are next up and with a win the Packers clinch the NFC North and a trip to the playoffs (Jim Mora voice).  A win will also hurt the Bears chances of the playoffs, so there will be no love loss in the greatest rivalry in the NFL.  Go Pack Go!

Putting it all Together

After a the first five weeks of the 2012 NFL season the Packers were off to a slow start.  The team did not show the killer instinct that they had the last two years.  After being screwed against the Seahawks they bounced back to beat the Saints.  The season was looking up, but then they blew a 18 point first half lead to lose to the Colts last week.

Coming into this week I knew the Pack had to play angry and they did; finally putting a whole game together.  Rodgers showed his MVP form picking apart the Texans defense, while Jordy torched Jonathan Joseph over and over again.  The defense shut down Arian Foster and it made me realize what a poor job Gary Kubiak did at play calling.  He literally ran the same run play about 20 times in the game. On the other hand McCarthy finally ran the uptempo offense and incorporated the run game more than he usually does.  His best move was to not play Jermichael Finley very much!

Finley is the most disappointing player in the league!  He has all the talent in the world, but could not catch a cold while wearing a t-shirt and shorts in the middle of a Wisconsin winter.  The play of the night came when my main mad Tom Crabtree scored his second touchdown of the year!

I think this game gives the Pack momentum going into their next game where they should destroy the Rams!
