He is Back!
I was watching the MTV Music Video Awards and with all the twerking, stuffed animals, NSync, and performances, my favorite part was the announcement of Eminem's new album. When it comes to the kings of rap there is no doubt Eminem is up at the top. His new album the Marshall Mather LP 2 hits stores November 5th. He released the debut single and video for Berzerk last week. Eminem usually releases a fun high, energy track as his first single and Berzerk is no different. The track is growing on me more and more, plus I love the video. The best thing about the song and video is that it sounds like Eminem is having fun again! I cannot wait until November 5th to check out the rest of the album, but here is the video to tide Eminem fans over until then.

Kanye, J Cole, and Mac Return
A few weeks ago was one of the biggest days in rap music in a long time. With highly anticipated releases from a rap legend, a Roc Nation star, and the independent MC. Yeezus, Born Sinner, and Watching Movies With the Sound Off all bring their unique sounds and lyrics to the rap game.
Yeezus brings the heavy, energetic beats brought to the listener by producer turned rapper, Kanye West. This is Kanye's seventh solo album. The album utilizes Kanye's excellent ear for beats, combining that with controversial lyrics, which he has already caught criticism for. The only downfall of the album is that there is only ten songs on the CD.
Born Sinner, the sophomore album from J. Cole, is the follow up to his debut album, Cole World. After exploding through the mixtape scene Cole hit the mainstream with Cole World. Born Sinner shows his continued growth lyrically. He has quickly become one of the top lyricists in the game.
Mac Miller was the first independent artist to have a number one album since the 90s and his sophomore album, Watching Movies With the Sound Off, is better than his debut album. The goofy, white kid from Pittsburgh returns with a laid back, fun album. Mac has a different flow than anyone in the game and it is good to see someone who is able to sell a ton of records without the major label.
These three albums have been a huge success so far and have been a great way to start this summer in hip hop. There are some highly anticipated albums coming out this year, which includes Kanye's Throne partner, Jay-Z, whose Magna Carta Holy Grail comes out tomorrow! In the words of Bart Scott, "Can't wait!"

2012 Rap Returns!
The rap and hip hop music scene has been running into the ground over the past 5 or so years. The past few years have produced a great great album, but in 2012 rap music has returned! There are many excellent albums that came out this past year.
Many great veteran MCs came back in a strong way with solid albums and songs. Nas, TI, Big Boi, Game, and Jeezy came out with hot new albums. There was no sophomore slump for B.o.B and Slaughterhouse either!
2012 was also the year many hot new MCs stepped up to the plate. Macklemore, Kendrick Lamar, Big Krit and MGK all released their debut albums. Meek Mill is another MC who released his debut album, although I have yet to listen to all of it, I have heard good things.
2012 was a hot year for rap music and the momentum continues into 2013, with expected new albums from 50 Cent, Eminem, Ludacris, Jay Z, Kanye, Lil Wayne, A$ap Rocky and many others.
